The Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have to be improved, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said in an interview to journalists on Friday.
"Public and open e-Parliament will raise quality of work of the Verkhovna Rada and parliamentarians," he said.
According to Groysman, "the Regulations do not address many issues, on the other hand they too much regulate what requires no regulation at all." At that he noted that current Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada were adopted in the times of the older wording of the Constitution.
At present, Groysman said that the work with European partners was underway and aimed at receipt of "a number of systemic instruments" to change the system of internal parliamentary procedures.
In Groysman's words, the parliamentary reform will improve the procedure of cooperation inside of the legislature and enhance responsibility of the people's deputies for their activity.
Asked about the privileges and preferences enjoyed by the people's deputies, Groysman supported only "those of them that improve the work of the Parliament."
"The internal reform of the Parliament itself requires improvement of procedures at the Verkhovna Rada," Groysman said.
